Revelation 7:9

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb.”

In honoring the diversity of our community of faith, our 2024 Chicagoland Convocation celebrates this text. After several years of being unable to gather, I look forward to seeing people from across our Chicagoland come together, not just to express the diversity found in chapter 7 but to “stand before” the throne of the Lamb—the central figure in Scripture’s final book. We come to gather (and together) before Him. Convocation will provide an opportunity for Adventists of all ages and nationalities to stand together on the same campus and before the Lamb. We will be blessed by glorious song as a reminder of the coming day when we shall sing in the actual, physical presence of the Lamb. This day will be our opportunity as a diverse people to be in front of the Lamb! I look forward to seeing many of you there.
